August 2015 Defense Verdict

Sep 8th, 2015

Todd Thompson and Millie Tanner successfully defended Saint Joseph London Hospital in a week long trial in August, 2015.  The plaintiff alleged that she suffered a stroke following a total knee replacement after a nurse administered morphine.  The plaintiff’s medical records indicated she was allergic to morphine.  The plaintiff and her mother both testified that a nurse administered morphine and the plaintiff immediately became violently ill and unconscious.  The Hospital presented evidence that morphine was not administered and the patient suffered a stroke following her total knee replacement, a known complication.  The jury deliberated less than an hour before returning a unanimous verdict.
