Eleanor M. B. Davis, Partner

Ellie has specialized in medical negligence defense of hospitals and physicians for over a decade.

She grew up outside of Lexington in Woodford County, Kentucky and graduated from Davidson College (2004) and the University of Kentucky College of Law (2007). After graduating from law school, Ellie practiced in Lexington at Gess Mattingly & Atchison, where she gained experience in a variety of practice areas from criminal law to equine law.

In 2009, Ellie joined TMS to pursue her interest in defending healthcare providers. Since that time, she has successfully defended several hospitals and physicians primarily in medical negligence matters, but also in licensure, credentialing, premises, and employment related matters.

Ellie has tried several cases to defense verdict across the Commonwealth. She was a SuperLawyers Rising Star in Medical Malpractice Defense since 2022.

Ellie has three children and two dogs.

Highlights

In addition to her trial work, Ellie has argued many successful dispositive motions on behalf of her clients. She has argued before the Kentucky Court of Appeals. She served as an MRP Panel Chair.

  • December 2023 - Defense verdict in $38 million fetal demise trial.

  • February 2022 - Unanimous defense verdict in $14 million wrongful death case with stipulated breach of standard of care.

  • January 2019 - Defense verdict on behalf of hospital in $23 million retained foreign object case.

  • July 2018 - Directed verdict for hospital in birth injury case.
