Lon S. Hays, Partner

Lon has worked with healthcare providers for more than a decade.

Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Lon graduated from Centre College (2007) with a dual degree in finance and Spanish and earned his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law (2010). Lon experienced his first medical negligence trial during law school and has been dedicated to the field ever since.

Lon joined TMS in 2012 shortly after moving to the Louisville area. While with TMS, Lon has been involved in multiple trials and arbitration proceedings on behalf of healthcare systems, hospitals, medical practices, and individual providers throughout Kentucky. He has also been admitted pro hac vice in multiple states to assist with mass and catastrophic loss litigation. Lon regularly defends healthcare providers in front of their boards of professional licensure and in insurance credentialing proceedings.

Recently, Lon completed the 40+ hour Theory and Techniques for the Advocate and Mediator Training Seminar offered jointly by the Northern Kentucky University ADR Center, Haile College of Business, and Chase College of Law. He welcomes the opportunity to assist litigants and adversaries resolve their differences as a third-party neutral or independent decision-maker whether in mediation, arbitration, medical staff fair hearing proceedings, or other forums.

When away from the office, Lon enjoys running marathons with his wife, spending time with their three children, and traveling.
